Why would an American president bow down to world leaders?   Why is it easy for politicians to stoke hatred for rich, fat-cat CEOs? And why do so many nations around the world hate America, the world’s lone superpower?  read more

“How can we separate conspiracies from wacky conspiracy theories?” - Glenn F.
A conspiracy, by definition, is a plot formulated by two or more people.  Conspiracy theories become wacky when the plots get bigger, and the number of people gets larger.  If you take a huge bad deed, like the attacks of 9/11, and contend that thousands of…Click here to get the entire conspiracy chapter from Underdogma - for free!

"Michael, I'm sure you're familiar with F.A. Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom" but have you ever recommended it? It is a classic that all haters of the under dogma philosophy should read--the essence is that collectivism is the enemy of competition. proponents of under dogma hate competition and love the entitlement mentality..."
You have just recommended it to everyone - thanks!  And this is an open invitation to everyone: if you have a book to recommend, please recommend it.

"Michael, how much of your thinking has been influenced by Ayn Rand; and do you consider her one of the world's greatest philosophers and thinkers?" - Barnaby

Ayn Rand didn’t shape my thinking.  But she is the reason why I am an author.  Until I read Ayn Rand (quite late in life) I thought the audience for the way I saw the world was limited to just me.  Which I was happy with.  When I saw that Ayn Rand’s books were some of the most widely-read books in America over the past fifty years, I realized that I wasn’t alone - and I started writing.

"Do you consider Americans superior to other nationalities?" - Jim
The answer to your question can be found on page 310 of Underdogma.  Here is quote from Rush Limbaugh on that page:

“We are no different DNA-wise than any other human beings on the planet. No central authority appointed us a world superpower. It happened. We created it ourselves. We did it with the distinct features that we in America were born to as a result of our Constitution and our Declaration of Independence. Nobody elevated us. There was no world order which said the United States is elevated as a group above any other nation. And I don’t know that anybody in the United States looks at ourselves that way. We don’t look at ourselves as better than anybody else. We look at ourselves as an outpost of freedom the rest of the world wants to join, emulate, in many places they want to tear us apart, too, but this whole notion here that any world order that elevates one-so bye-bye American exceptionalism and hello world order. Somebody has got to come in and cut somebody down to size. And that somebody is us.”
-Rush Limbaugh, June 4, 2009

"Much like Israel, the U.S. is scorned for its decision to put a fence between its border with Mexico. Vicente Fox [compared] the fence [to the] Berlin Wall. Meanwhile, Mexico has a fence between it and its southern border and Belize! Why didn't somebody ask Fox about this fence? - Richard"

Richard,
This excerpt from Underdogma (below) says it all:

A Tale of Two Walls
When Israel built a wall to protect itself from Palestinian
terrorists, Underdogmatists around the world were outraged,
with many calling it “Israeli Apartheid.”

In late 2009, Egypt started building wall of its own, also in
part to protect itself from Palestinian terrorists.

Two walls, in the exact same part of the world, to fence in the
exact same Palestinian terrorists. Was the reaction to the two walls the same, or do we see evidence of Underdogma?
